Personal Ministries
The Personal Ministries Council meets at least once each month. Their primary function is to guide the outreach missionary efforts of Gatwick Church, under the direction of the church board. The leader is elected by the church congregation to lead in training and directing the church in active outreach service. Personal Ministry department coordinate the Bible correspondence school, Bible evangelism, literature distribution, ingathering, small group ministries, member training, and other means to enhance soul winning. The department serves as the representative of the Adventist Book Centre for all departments of the church.
The department works through various organs of the church:
The Community Services/ Dorcas Society gathers and prepares clothing, food, and other supplies for the poor, needy, and unfortunate. It works in close cooperation with the deacons and deaconesses of the church. It its function is more than giving material aid; it encompasses also adult education, visiting, homemaking, home nursing, counselling, and other services.
Adventist Men is another subsidiary group whose chief missionary programs are lay preaching efforts, prison ministry, and Community Services.
Through the Ministry to People with Disabilities, Horley church Personal Ministries Council gives special attention to members and others with disabilities. The church develop programs for witnessing to people who have disabilities; make recommendations to the church board regarding possible actions which could make the church facilities more accessible for people with disabilities; assist the church in transportation solutions for people with disabilities; and advise departmental and church leadership regarding possible involvement of members who have disabilities. The coordinator of Ministry to People with Disabilities serves as a liaison with organizations providing services for people with disabilities .
The Bible School coordinator organizes and coordinates the Horley church's Bible School outreach ministry to the local community. The Bible School coordinator works in close cooperation with the pastor, the Church Interest coordinator, and the Personal Ministries leader.
